Requires NYS RN license, BSN preferred, and 2+ years in cardiology or acute care. Enroll in BSN within 2 years and obtain BSN within 5 years of entry.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date.
• 2+ years of experience preferred; cardiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's physiologic health status through interviews and comprehensive health assessments.
• Evaluate patient's psychosocial health status and identify cultural/ethnic requirements.
• Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes and establish individualized patient goals.
• Formulate and document the plan of care in collaboration with health team members.
• Implement the plan of care while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Evaluate care effectiveness and document outcomes for performance improvement.
• Collaborate with care team members and assist physicians during treatments.
• Provide wound care and manage pressure ulcers (Stages I-IV).
• Administer medications correctly and educate patients on drug interactions.
• Participate in patient and family education, ensuring understanding of health management.
