Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• BSN preferred; must enroll in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within five years of job entry date.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Specialized certifications as needed (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's physiologic health status through interviews and comprehensive health assessments.
• Evaluate patient's psychosocial health status and identify cultural/ethnic requirements.
• Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes and establish individualized patient goals.
• Formulate and document the plan of care in collaboration with healthcare team members.
• Implement the plan of care while ensuring safety precautions are followed.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with care team members to plan and carry out treatment regimens.
• Administer medications correctly and educate patients on drug interactions.
• Participate in patient and family education, ensuring understanding of care plans.
