Job summary

Bell Ambulance seeks an experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician in Milwaukee to maintain ambulances and emergency response vehicles. The role emphasizes safe, reliable fleets with in-house repairs and a stable hourly structure.

You will diagnose complex mechanical and electrical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and document parts used. Strong tool ownership and ongoing ASE education are valued, with competitive pay and holidays off.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Journeyman technician.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair Ford and Chevy light/medium-duty gas vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic capability with advanced scanning tools, electrical multimeters, and hydraulic systems.
• Ownership of a comprehensive set of personal hand/power tools relevant to the position.
• Willingness for continued education and professional development.
• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and powertrain components on Ford/Chevy commercial chassis (Class 3–5).
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections, oil changes, brakes, and fluid flushes.
• Diagnose engines, transmissions, differentials, and electrical systems & HVAC.
• Repair emergency vehicle equipment including power supplies, climate control, and lighting/sirens.
• Document repairs and parts used using digital fleet management software.
• Occasionally perform minor field repairs or assist with towing to return vehicles to service.
