Job summary

Pafford Medical Services is seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to support its EMS operations in Northwest Arkansas. The role focuses on keeping ambulances and fleet vehicles safe, reliable, and ready by performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, and executing timely repairs.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, automotive experience, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Automotive experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices in mechanics and vehicle maintenance.
  • Basic computer proficiency for recordkeeping and work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services on ambulances and company vehicles in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company standards.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, steering, brake, HVAC, engine, transmission, and drivetrain issues.
  • Troubleshoot and repair emergency vehicle systems, including warning lights, sirens, communication equipment, power load systems, shoreline charging systems, and other ambulance-specific equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, work orders, and parts inventory using company-approved systems.
  • Respond to emergency or after-hours repair requests as needed to support continuous EMS operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
