GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Provides Basic Life Support, including medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of the critically ill and injured; responds to emergency rescue situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury; maintains control, manages, and directs patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency; provides training and instruction to lesser-trained personnel; performs other duties as required.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The supervisor assigns shifts and the scope of work. The incumbent performs work according to procedures, policies, and medical orders, exercising judgment to apply guidelines appropriately. Work is spot-checked and evaluated based on feedback from patients, medical staff, and others.
Knowledge of street systems, addresses, physical layouts, rescue, and emergency medical equipment is essential.

Additionally, incumbents must maintain current knowledge in emergency medicine through ongoing education and seminars, both on and off duty, to uphold certification as required by the state.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
The work involves operating emergency vehicles, moving equipment, and extracting injured persons from various situations, often over different terrains. Incumbents must be physically capable of carrying or assisting to carry injured persons to transportation and attending to injured parties at the scene. They must see, hear, and communicate effectively with injured persons.
Uniforms issued by the Company must be worn on duty, and all equipment must be maintained and cleaned.
Incumbents must carry a Company-issued pager/radio at all times for immediate notification of assignments.
