Job summary

Discovery Green Conservancy in Houston is seeking a part-time ambassador to support the Marketing Team with event services, public greeting, and merchandise sales. You will help visitors by sharing park information and promoting the park’s mission to ensure guests leave with a sense of discovery.

Hours are flexible and include non-exempt part-time work. You will join a friendly team focused on welcoming guests and creating memorable experiences for Houston’s visitors.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors with a friendly disposition and provide information about the park.
• Sell Discovery Green merchandise and handle donations.
• Assist with programming events, setup chairs, and distribute flyers as needed.
• Direct visitors and manage the flow of foot traffic.
• Enforce park rules in fountain and playground areas.

Ambassadors support the Marketing Team with event services, public greeting, customer service and merchandise sales. Ambassadors ensure every visitor to Discovery Green leaves feeling like they’ve discovered something new and special about Houston.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Treat every visitor with a friendly disposition and an eagerness to help
• Know and embody the Discovery Green mission
• Assist visitors with information about the park and directions
• Sell Discovery Green merchandise and ask for donations
• Assist with programming events when assigned, as customer service representatives. This may include:
• Setting out chairs
• Passing out flyersDirecting the flow of traffic
• Leading crafts or activities as needed
• Other duties as assigned; all Conservancy employees work together as a team and frequently assist each other in every department when needed
• Enforce Park rules in the fountain and playground areas

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Must have at least a High school/GED degree preferred.
• Must be able to work within a strong team environment, following directions and completing assigned tasks.
• Must be able to remain calm and courteous when speaking with the public
