Job summary

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform construction and repair across its facilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Role involves routine rounds, service requests, vendor coordination, and life-safety inspections. A high school diploma with trade training and a valid driver’s license are required. Experience with BAS systems is preferred and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of trade experience.
• High School Diploma and trade school, apprentice school or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; MVR must meet CUHC standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction and repair of interior and exterior of buildings and facilities.
• Daily rounds of property territory; report issues; conduct grounds, life safety, compliance, inspections and equipment checks; contact vendors as needed.
• 20% of duties include property management: obtaining bids, requisitions, managing on-site contractors and invoicing.
• 60% of duties include repairs and preventive maintenance on MEP systems and physical plant; respond to tenant service requests; process work orders with HE M work orders.
• 20% Life Safety and Compliance Inspections; ensure regulatory readiness and knowledge of building codes.

Short Description

Performs various functions pertaining to construction and repair of interior and exterior of buildings and facilities.

Performs daily rounds of their respective property territory. Reports back issues that need attention. Rounds include grounds, life safety, compliance, inspections, equipment etc. Technician makes repairs or contacts vendor for service.

20% of Job Responsibility includes property management/project management services to include obtaining bids for repairs, assisting in requisition process, managing on-site contractors and invoice processing.

60% of Job Responsibility includes performing repairs and preventative maintenance on MEP systems and physical plant as required by specific leases. Responds to tenant service requests in work order system. HEM work orders must be completed in a timely & efficient manner.

20% of Job Responsibility includes Life Safety and Compliance Inspections. Must be knowledgeable of building codes and capable of evaluating existing conditions to ensure regulatory readiness.

Experience Required

5+ years in Trade

Education Requirements

High School Diploma and trade School, apprentice school or equivalent required.

License/Certification Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license. Motor vehicle record must meet CUHC standard criteria to be permitted to drive CUHC vehicles.

Special Requirements

Must have knowledge of BAS system
