Job description

Company Overview

American Bath Group (ABG) is a manufacturer of bath and shower products, serving residential and commercial markets through retail, wholesale, and digital commerce channels.

With a portfolio of established brands and product categories, ABG is focused on expanding its digital presence, strengthening retail partnerships, and making its products more accessible to consumers.

The Opportunity

American Bath Group is seeking an Amazon Account Manager to lead the commercial development and growth of its established Amazon first-party (1P) business.

This is a hands-on commercial role for someone who understands how to grow a manufacturer-owned brand through Amazon's retail organization. The opportunity combines direct account management with broader ownership of growth planning, promotional strategy, product assortment, and commercial execution.

The person stepping into this role will have the opportunity to strengthen an established business while helping define its next stage of growth. Success will require more than managing daily account activity. It will require identifying opportunities, building commercially sound plans, and bringing those plans to life through Amazon and internal business partners.

Success in Year One

Success in the first year means establishing a more productive, commercially disciplined Amazon business with measurable year-over-year sales growth and a clear plan for continued expansion.

The Amazon Account Manager will strengthen relationships with Amazon's vendor and merchant teams, improve the consistency of pricing and product availability, and develop coordinated promotional and retail-media strategies that contribute to overall account performance.

Equally important will be establishing a forward-looking account plan, advancing differentiated product opportunities, and creating a consistent approach to evaluating and acting on commercial opportunities.

Results will be measured through overall Amazon sales performance, progress on key account initiatives, and the ability to turn commercial plans into sustained business results.

The Mandate

Take ownership of the Amazon 1P commercial agenda, connecting account strategy with disciplined execution across pricing, assortment, inventory, promotions, retail media, and product launches.

Develop and maintain productive relationships with Amazon's merchant and vendor organization. Identify opportunities to strengthen account performance, resolve commercial barriers, and secure alignment on initiatives that support sustainable growth.

Build structured annual and longer-term account plans that establish commercial priorities, identify growth opportunities, and guide execution across the business.

Work closely with internal Channel, Finance, product, marketing, retail-media, and operational partners to turn those plans into measurable results.

While these teams own different parts of the business, the Amazon Account Manager is responsible for coordinating the commercial effort and ensuring priorities move from planning through execution.

This is an individual-contributor role combining strategic account development with hands-on commercial management.

Year One Critical Outcomes
  • Drive measurable Amazon sales growth. Develop and execute account initiatives that improve overall point-of-sale performance, strengthen the existing business, and create opportunities for continued growth.
  • Strengthen pricing and product availability execution. Work across Amazon and internal business teams to address commercial issues affecting product competitiveness, availability, and sales performance.
  • Build and execute a coordinated promotional and retail-media strategy. Establish a structured approach to Amazon events, promotions, and advertising investment, evaluating effectiveness through overall account performance rather than advertising metrics alone.
  • Expand differentiated product opportunities. Partner with product and commercial teams to develop, launch, and grow Amazon-exclusive or otherwise differentiated assortment opportunities, measuring their contribution to account growth.
  • Advance retailer relationships and long-term account planning. Develop productive relationships with Amazon's merchant and vendor teams while establishing actionable one-year and three-year account plans that guide priorities, investment, and execution.
Why This Role Is Hard

Amazon account growth requires coordinating several interconnected commercial priorities. Pricing, promotions, inventory, product availability, and advertising investments can all affect one another, and meaningful progress often depends on decisions made across multiple teams.

The person in this role must be comfortable working through those dependencies rather than simply managing the activities within their direct control. Success requires the judgment to identify what is limiting performance, build a practical business case, gain alignment, and follow through until changes are implemented.

There is also a balance between immediate execution and longer-term growth. The Amazon Account Manager must be willing to engage directly with account-level issues while developing the plans and commercial routines that position the business for future expansion.

This is not a role where maintaining an existing promotional calendar or monitoring advertising dashboards will be enough. The expectation is to take initiative, develop commercial strategies, and demonstrate how those efforts improve the broader Amazon business.

Leadership Profile

The successful individual will demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Commercial ownership: Takes responsibility for account outcomes, identifies opportunities independently, and follows initiatives from initial strategy through implementation and measurement.
  • Strategic planning with hands-on execution: Can develop a forward-looking account plan while remaining directly involved in the operational and commercial details that influence performance.
  • Retailer relationship management: Builds productive relationships with merchant and vendor partners, navigates commercial discussions, and turns those relationships into actionable business opportunities.
  • Cross-functional influence: Brings together teams with different priorities, establishes clear next steps, and moves initiatives forward without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Data-driven commercial judgment: Uses account performance, sales trends, and available financial information to diagnose opportunities, evaluate investments, and make informed decisions.
Experience Requirements
  • First-party retailer/vendor commercial management: Demonstrated commercial account-management experience within a first-party retailer/vendor model, including direct engagement with retailer buying, merchant, or vendor-management teams. Direct Amazon 1P experience is particularly relevant.
  • Account growth and commercial planning: Experience developing and executing account growth plans with responsibility for measurable commercial outcomes, beyond advertising, content management, or transactional account support.
  • Promotions and assortment development: Demonstrated involvement in building promotional strategies, coordinating retail-media initiatives, and launching or expanding product distribution, with a clear understanding of their impact on overall account performance.
  • Commercial problem-solving: Experience identifying and resolving commercial challenges involving pricing, product availability, assortment, or comparable account constraints through collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Independent performance analysis: Ability to independently analyze retailer sales performance, identify growth opportunities, and translate findings into practical commercial decisions.
  • Helpful related experience: Familiarity with Amazon Vendor Central, annual vendor negotiations, MAP policies, Amazon-specific promotions, and product content optimization is beneficial. Experience in home improvement, building products, consumer durables, or comparable physical-product categories may also support a faster transition.
Why the Right Candidate Will Be Excited

This opportunity offers meaningful responsibility for the commercial development of an established Amazon business, with room to influence how the account grows and operates.

The right individual will have the opportunity to shape account strategy, strengthen a major retail partnership, develop product and promotional initiatives, and see the commercial impact of their work.

It is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys both creating growth plans and executing them. Rather than focusing on one narrow aspect of eCommerce, this position connects the full commercial picture, from retailer relationships and assortment development to investment decisions and measurable sales performance.

Why This Role Matters

Amazon is an important part of American Bath Group's digital commerce strategy and provides a meaningful opportunity to expand the reach and performance of its bath and shower products.

Continued growth requires coordinated account leadership, disciplined commercial execution, and strong retailer partnerships.

The Amazon Account Manager will help shape how ABG develops its Amazon business, bringing together the relationships, commercial planning, and execution needed to create sustainable growth.

The impact of this position will be visible not only in account performance but also in the strength of the commercial foundation established for the years ahead.
