Job summary

Black Cape in Arlington, VA is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer at various levels to join engineering-led teams building cloud-native web apps, data-analysis tools, and AI/ML capabilities for federal customers. Onsite 2–3 days per week; US citizenship and an active TS or TS/SCI clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in at least one OO language (Java, Python, C#, or C++).
• Experience with at least one MVC framework (Spring, Django, Flask or Rails).
• Experience with a relational DB (MySQL, PostgreSQL or sqlite3).
• Familiar with Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS) and web basics (HTTP, HTML, REST, CSS, JavaScript).

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-native full-stack web applications and data analysis tools.
• Contribute to AI/ML features using TensorFlow and similar tools.
• Collaborate with end users and teams to deliver reliable software on aggressive schedules.

Title:Amazing Full Stack Software Engineer (Entry level - Senior Levels)

Locations:Arlington, VA and areas throughout the DMV (DC, MD, VA)

Onsite Expectations: MUST be willing to go onsite 2 - 3 days per week; could be up to 5 days per week - as the customer needs

Clearance:MUST have an Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance

MUST HAVE an Active Top Secret OR Top Secret SCI Clearance

Required Technical Skills (MUST HAVES)

• 2+ years of professional experience needed for MOST of our opportunities
• Proficient in at least ONE Object-Oriented language such as Java, Python, C# or C++ - NOT All, just ONE OO language
• Experience with at least ONE MVC framework, perhaps including Spring, Django, Flask or Rails
• Experience with at least ONE relational database, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or sqlite3
• Experience working with Linux distributions like Ubuntu, RedHat, or CentOS
• Working knowledge of web application basics like HTTP, HTML, REST, CSS, and JavaScript

Preferred Technical Skills (NICE TO HAVES)

• Proficient in at least one scripting language like Python, Bash, or Perl
• Familiar with web server configuration on NGINX, Apache, or similar
• Familiar with a JavaScript framework like React, Backbone, Angular, Ember or Vue.js
• Familiar with Bootstrap and Less
• Experience with NoSQL storage like ElasticSearch, Accumulo, and MongoDB is a plus.
