Description :

Silo is seeking a Line Cook to join our new and growing team! As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items according to recipes and established standards, contributing to our commitment to outstanding service and profitability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn and grow in the kitchen while performing all tasks to high standards.

This position operates from Monday to Friday, with hours from 7am until after closing duties are completed.

You will be responsible for the following :

  • Executing food tickets accurately and within our ticket time standards.
  • Gaining knowledge and ability to prepare all menu items.
  • Applying safe food handling and sanitation practices during food preparation, handling, and storage.
  • Ensuring proper product rotation using first-in, first-out practices.
  • Maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment, including setting up and breaking down work stations, stocking stations, completing daily side work and cleaning duties, and keeping cooking areas tidy throughout service.

Compensation :

  • Starting at $20 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Benefits available for full-time employees (working 35+ hours weekly).

Requirements :

  • Minimum age of 17 years.
  • Food handling card or certification from an approved organization.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work long hours on your feet.
  • Reliable transportation to ensure punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of hot line cook experience in a restaurant setting.
  • Basic knife skills, prep production, and recipe execution abilities.
  • Ability to follow directives and instructions promptly during busy periods.
  • Working knowledge of weights and recipe measurements.
  • Ability to read tickets and execute food orders accurately and promptly.
  • Ability to work effectively in close quarters with other cooks.
  • An outgoing personality with good communication skills to interact with customers regularly.
