Cornell University’s Statler Hotel is seeking an AM Banquet Cook S06 to join our Culinary Team.

The Statler Hotel employs hospitality professionals dedicated to leading a premier collegiate lifestyle hotel, welcoming visitors and fostering a culture of collaboration, celebration, and excellence. Your Role as an AM Banquet Cook:
  • Execute and complete the daily prep list for all banquet functions and Banfi buffet.
  • Fabricate proteins, cut vegetables, and check pars against the prep list.
  • Prepare menu items using standardized recipes.
  • Prepare items efficiently to support daily events and BEOs.
  • Monitor and record food temperatures as required.
  • Provide supervision and training for student cooks.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure quality guest experiences.
  • Support other departments such as pastry and Banfi line as needed.
  • Work breakfast and lunch line stations (Pantry or Saute/Grill) when required.
  • Manage time effectively during slow periods.
  • Clean the kitchen and store food after service periods or as directed.
  • Complete prep lists and close shifts adhering to standards.
  • Assist with family meal preparations with Sous Chefs.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude with coworkers and guests.
  • Report to the Sous Chef/Manager.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of culinary experience in a restaurant, hotel, or resort.
  • Understanding of cooking methods, procedures, and knife skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately and quickly.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes.
  • Remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized and self-motivated.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry heavy materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited college or university.
