Howard University invites applications for a full-time 1-2 year laboratory research fellow position focused on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). The role emphasizes hands-on experiments, data collection, and collaboration within a supportive team.

Fellows will work under mentors, gain experience in research techniques, data analysis, and manuscript preparation, with emphasis on compliance and safety in a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, neuroscience, psychology, biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering.
• Strong GPA 3.2 minimum.
• Desire to pursue a research-focused career in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
• Prior research experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments utilizing various techniques specific to the laboratory to investigate mechanisms and treatment strategies of ADRD.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of experimental procedures and results.
• Collect, maintain, analyze, and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical and analytical methods.
• Contribute to the preparation of research presentations and manuscripts.
• Participate in lab meeting seminars, and collaborative research discussions.
• Assist with general lab maintenance and organization, including ordering supplies and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
