Job summary

Lafayette College is seeking a Director of Alumni and Volunteer Engagement to lead a dynamic program connecting alumni, families, and friends with meaningful volunteering. You will design opportunities, train volunteers, and collaborate with campus partners to advance engagement and charitable giving.

You will build diverse, high-impact volunteer pipelines, guide the Alumni Association Board, and steward affinity groups while ensuring a robust, inclusive engagement strategy across the alumni

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred, in a relevant field (such as Communications, Marketing, or Event Management)
• Five to seven years of higher education experience preferred, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Create and oversee volunteer opportunities for alumni, parents, and friends
• Grow and steward volunteers toward larger commitments
• Identify matches between volunteers and high-impact activities
• Develop relationships with alumni to strengthen Lafayette College ties
• Coordinate with Gateway Career Center, Admissions and Provost’s office for high-touch volunteer experiences
• Develop and implement volunteer engagement metrics and a pipeline model
• Establish a training program and volunteer handbook for onboarding
• Maintain current web content and an online volunteer experience
• Lead Alumni Association Board strategies and nominations
• Support affinity programming and related volunteer needs
• Coordinate annual volunteer awards nominations and ceremonies
• Align volunteer strategies with Annual Giving to support fundraising goals
• Lead a high-performing team through coaching and development
• Oversee budgets and cross-departmental coordination
• Ensure events require travel and weekend availability as needed
