Job summary

The Claremont Colleges Services (CGU) is seeking a Gift Officer to build and manage donor relationships, focusing on the Transformation Fund and CGU’s transformation. This role emphasizes external engagement with alumni and senior leaders, requiring a collaborative, results-driven approach.

Based in Claremont, the Gift Officer will meet monthly fundraising targets, work across campus and community settings, and collaborate with advancement leadership to develop donor strategies and next steps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and abilities. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, alumni relations, admissions, or a related area in higher education or a comparable organization.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly throughout Southern California.
• Experience with Slate or a comparable higher education CRM system.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio composed primarily of CGU alumni, meeting monthly targets for donor engagement, portfolio movement, solicitations, and fundraising results.
• Build authentic one-to-one relationships with alumni across generations, host donors on campus, and engage CGU leadership and faculty.
• Lead donor meetings independently and coordinate joint meetings with senior leadership, including scheduling, logistics, and follow-up.
