The aluminum welder fabricator is responsible for fabricating, welding, repairing, and modifying barges and piers to exact drawing specifications while ensuring quality and efficiency in all fabrication tasks. This position is heavily focused on aluminum welding and fabrication and requires the ability to produce strong, clean, high‑quality welds in a marine manufacturing environment.
- Perform aluminum welding and fabrication on barges, marine equipment, and structural components, ensuring strength and durability.
- Utilize proper tools, materials, and MIG/TIG welding techniques for aluminum and steel applications.
- Cut and prepare raw materials to specified dimensions.
- Repair and reinforce barge and pier components, including decking and structural supports.
- Read and follow blueprints and production drawings accurately.
- Work in both shop and field environments, including outdoor marine settings.
- Follow production schedules and complete tasks on time.
- Track hours and maintain quality standards by inspecting completed work.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Report hazards or equipment issues promptly.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
