Job summary

Kaiser Aluminum is seeking a Process & Product Development Engineer to join the Advanced Engineering team in Newark, Ohio. The role focuses on leading priority R&D projects and collaborating with plant teams to drive data-driven process and product improvements.

You will apply expertise in aluminum processing, design experiments, analyze results, and communicate findings to peers and stakeholders while advancing safety and housekeeping within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science preferred; other engineering fields considered with applicable industry experience.
• Minimum five years in aluminum processing or heavy industry process engineering.
• Experience using statistical methods for data acquisition, root cause analysis, process control, and capability analysis.
• Experience leading technical projects in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple manufacturing facilities and work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop, define, and complete assigned R&D projects in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Kaiser plant resources to support process improvement initiatives.
• Use data-driven analysis to drive sustained process and product improvements across facilities.
• Design experiments and analyze results to recommend actionable improvements.
• Communicate progress and technical findings through reports and presentations.
