Chart’s Tig Welder position on the 1st shift (5am - 5pm) is crucial in manufacturing. Responsibilities include welding vessels of various metals using GTAW, ensuring high-quality products with radiography, vacuum mass spectrometry, and phased array ultrasonic testing, all while complying with ASME, DOT, AAR, and EN pressure vessel codes.

What Will You Do?

• Operate cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts
• Weld vessels per established processes with minimal supervision
• Perform welding and finishing repairs
• Maintain accurate records (production traveler, traceability, etc.)
• Keep work area clean
• Monitor and report equipment needs
• Assist new welders in skill development
• Follow all safety procedures
• Complete required training
• Perform other duties as assigned

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

• Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking, occasional crawling
• Frequent pushing, pulling, handling materials
• Occasional climbing and working at heights

Your Experience Should Be...

• 7+ years of relevant welding experience
• High School diploma or GED
• Completion of a Welder Training Program
• Proficient in all GTAW positions
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and welding symbols
• Proficient in visual inspection

Must pass welding tests, including a 6"x4" bead on plate with SS and aluminum filler, and two 2" SS pipe tests in the 6G position. Additional qualifications in 2G, 3G, and 6G to be completed after hire.
