Kaiser Aluminum in Chandler, Arizona is seeking a Technical Manager (metallurgy focused) to lead the thermal and mechanical processing operations for aluminum seamless tubing. Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering or related field preferred (Metallurgical/Chemical).
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with quality systems and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the thermal and mechanical processes needed to produce aluminum seamless tubing meeting AMS/ASTM specs.
• Develop understanding of industry and customer specifications and maintain current revisions.
• Oversee QA Lab testing and calibration, including mechanical testing and measurement tools."
• Troubleshoot test failures and provide disposition.
• Ensure accuracy, validity, and record maintenance of all product and process testing.
• Determine product conformity or nonconformity and provide disposition.
• Notify customers within one business day when a nonconformance exists or is suspected.
• Perform supplier audits (raw material, outside testing, calibration labs, tooling vendors).
• Review and disposition deviation requests related to quality-critical materials and tools.
• Support site Quality Manager with corrective actions and Vital Few investigations.
• As process owner, ensure corrections and actions from audits are addressed timely.
• Support process performance reviews (scrap, RCCA, audits) and internal/external findings.
• Sign customer certifications as necessary.
• Instruct and train employees on critical processes and perform competency evaluations.
