Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Columbia seeks a dependable Aluminum Forging Press Operator for our aluminum department in West Columbia, SC. You will operate forging press equipment, support production processes, and uphold quality and safety standards in a fast-paced industrial setting.

You will work a flexible shift that may include weekends and will be trained to perform additional tasks such as oven handling, trimming, buffing, and blasting. Safety protocols and ISO9001 procedures apply.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical forging and production processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support forging press machinery in the aluminum department.
• Follow schedules and directions provided by the Forging Supervisor.
• Monitor production and utilize STAIN system for tracking and labeling processes.
• Perform visual inspections of parts during production.
• Complete machine setup according to setup sheets and specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and surrounding work area.
• Coordinate with forklift drivers for movement of billets and forged parts.
• Perform additional tasks such as loading/unloading ovens, trimming, buffing, and blasting (after training).
• Complete required quality checks and submit documentation to the Quality department.
• Communicate machine performance and production trends to supervisor.
• Follow ISO9001 quality standards and company procedures.
