Job summary

Dashiell Corporation in Texas seeks a Certified Welder for aluminum bus and jumper welding in high voltage substations. You will perform GTAW and GMAW, read plans, and fabricate bus sections in field and shop to match as-built conditions.

Ensure welds pass visual and NDE, adhere to WPS and AWS D1.2, and maintain documentation. Minimum 3 years aluminum welding experience required; OSHA 10 and D1.2 certified preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; welding program preferred.
• 3+ years welding experience with aluminum in field construction.
• Ability to weld aluminum bus and jumpers in all positions (GTAW, GMAW).
• AWS D1.2 aluminum qualification; pass a welder qualification test on hire and maintain continuity.
• Ability to read substation plans, sections, drawings, weld symbols, and WPS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Weld aluminum bus and jumpers in all positions using GTAW and GMAW.
• Read substation drawings and lay out bus sections in field and shop to match as-built conditions.
• Fabricate and install bus sections and jumpers per drawings.
• Support NDE activities and maintain weld maps and documentation.
• Follow safety policies and hot work controls; ensure proper PPE and permits.
