Job summary

Harbordesigns is seeking a Junior/Intermediate Electrical Engineer to design and develop firmware and hardware for commercial and medical devices. You will work on Altium-powered PCB design, firmware development, and board bring-up within embedded systems using platforms like Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field, proven firmware/hardware experience, and strong Python/C/C++ skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Hands-on firmware and hardware design with a portfolio of projects.
• Proficient in Altium Designer for PCB layout and schematic capture.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, with embedded systems development experience.
• Experience with board bring-up, firmware development, and system integration.
• Knowledge of operating systems, particularly Linux, and its interaction with hardware.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware solutions using Altium Designer.
• Develop and implement firmware for various microprocessors and board bring-up.
• Test, debug, and optimize hardware and firmware components to meet specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware and firmware requirements.
• Document design processes, analysis, and testing results for reports and specs.
• Participate in product risk reviews and contribute to software requirements and verification plans.
• Ensure compatibility and integration of hardware and firmware with Linux-based systems.
