An established industry player is seeking a dedicated individual to ensure the safety of school children while crossing streets. This role involves creating safe gaps in traffic, effectively using a STOP paddle, and maintaining a vigilant presence to prevent accidents. This position specifically helps school children cross streets safely and maintains a safe environment for students walking to and from school. The candidate is responsible for ensuring that school children and motorists follow traffic laws so that children are provided a safe environment to prevent injuries. Must be reliable, self-motivated and understand the importance of the job. Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must have reliable transportation.

Requirements:
Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Must successfully complete a standardized training course and show proficiency. Preference will be given to applicants who possess an active crossing guard certification. The applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug-alcohol screen test. Completion of The Florida School Crossing Guard Training program required by the "Ramon Turnquest School Crossing Guard Act." Must have availability to work a shift before school AND a shift after during the public school year (August through May).

These hours may vary according to demand and workload.
Monday: 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Thursday: 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This position is performed outside and is subject to exposure to the elements: heat, cold, and wet conditions; the job involves walking and standing for long periods of time; constant seeing and hearing are required to fulfill job responsibilities; the job is subject to exposure to environmental and/or physical hazards.
