This is a 10-year project, the largest in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and related structures. This project provides a valuable opportunity for team members to enhance their professional experience and advance their careers. Job Title: Alternate Construction Quality Control Manager

Salary: Top pay for experienced and proven performers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manage quality control staff, including engineers, inspectors, and testing personnel, onsite during construction.
  2. Oversee the Construction Quality Control Program, with authority on all quality matters.
  3. Maintain project documentation, including submittals, shop drawings, schedules, and records, ensuring compliance.
  4. Review and approve construction submittals related to alternative methods and materials.
  5. Conduct control phases (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-up) for each construction feature.
  6. Utilize on-site batch plant, specialized transport, equipment, and testing labs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Experience with USACE large-scale projects, including as a QCM or AQCM.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, including projects over $150M in scope within the last 10 years.
  • Construction Quality Management certification (within last 5 years) or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Verifiable USACE project experience, with references.
  • Leadership experience in quality control teams, especially with alternative construction methods.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform essential functions safely, meeting productivity standards.
  • Regular attendance, ability to lift up to 25 lbs, and navigate construction sites with uneven terrain.
  • Clear communication skills.
