The Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO)/Alternate Contractor Program Security Officer (ACPSO) position will work under the guidance and direction of the Security Manager. The assignments of the AFSO/ACPSO are focused on supporting the administration of a robust security program for several projects in a dynamic environment.

  1. Support the Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), performing duties to assist in the implementation and maintenance of a complete industrial security program including alarm response, area control, container access, badge and lock control, incident investigation, classification management, hardware control, and plant protection as required by the Department of Defense under NISPOM and other agencies.
  2. Support the implementation of all national security directives, emphasizing DoD 5205.07 SAP Manual, working under the supervision of the Security Manager.
  3. The AFSO/ACPSO works as a team player, exhibits flexibility, manages priorities, and meets customer expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Interact with internal and external customers and Government security officials in the performance of security duties.
  5. Perform physical security, information security, security education, document & media control, personnel security, data transfers, visitor control, maintain security files, handle classified documents, and other security activities as assigned.
  6. Perform duties in accordance with DoD, UL 2050, and NISPOM requirements.
  7. Check emergency exits, patrol campus, manage area and container access, brief personnel, maintain access rosters, lock control, and conduct audits.
  8. Write and review incident reports, investigate violations, and prepare reports for review. Learn visitor control processes including badging, escorting, and bag checks.
  9. Create and modify badge accounts, monitor key control, and support other security tasks as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Active Secret Clearance (within 5 years)
  • Understanding of ICDs & DoD SAP Manuals
  • Knowledge of U.S. Government security standards
  • Proficient communication skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related experience
  • NISP experience
  • Ability to multitask and exercise discretion
  • Motivated, adaptable, customer-focused, and organized
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Top Secret clearance eligibility, with ability to obtain SCI and other accesses
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Professional demeanor and good communication skills
