Role Overview

The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a vital role in the success of the Alterations department by providing outstanding customer service. Responsibilities include welcoming customers, scheduling appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and ensuring items are ready for pickup.

Essential Job Functions
  • Greet customers warmly via phone, chat, and in person, with clear communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Manage customer flow using all systems to deliver a five-star experience.
  • Meet service standards: Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs, and Be There for customers, including operational tasks and emotional support.
  • Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously, proactively addressing concerns and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Explain alterations' role in perfecting dresses and promote all alteration services and options.
  • Maintain store standards—cleanliness, organization, promotional readiness, and recovery.
  • Escort customers to and from alterations, press and steam garments, and inspect for quality before delivery.
  • Build customer relationships to foster satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management and process transactions accurately.
  • Assist with store duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move throughout the store as needed.
  • Use manual dexterity for POS, sewing, steaming, and computer use.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Visual and auditory abilities to perform tasks and communicate effectively.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years retail experience, preferably in apparel or specialty stores.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Experience with POS systems preferred.
