Job summary

AEI Consultants is seeking an experienced Field Technician to join our Land Surveying and Mapping division in Charlotte, NC. The role involves gathering field survey data, conducting ALTA surveys, and calculating legal descriptions of property boundaries.

You will operate survey instruments, locate land points, elevations, and lines for a variety of projects, and travel within the United States as needed. High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience using AutoCAD preferred.
• Previous experience conducting ALTA Surveys preferred.
• Willingness to travel within the United States required (anticipated travel is 1-2 weeks per trip).
• Resourceful self-starter.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and the types of measurements related to land surveying including linear, angular, elevations and unit systems conversion required.
• Ability to perform physical movements and operate tools and equipment outdoors in a variety of climates.

Responsibilities

• Gathering field survey data using GRS/Robotic equipment.
• Performing ALTA Surveys.
• Calculating and determining legal descriptions of property boundaries.
• Operate survey instruments and equipment for a variety of projects such as, topographic, ALTA, boundary, construction, etc.
• Locates and determines land by measuring and calculating points, elevations, lines, angles, areas, and contours
