Job Summary

The ALS/MDA Patient Services Coordinator serves as a key clinical and administrative liaison within a provider-based Neurology clinic, supporting patients diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and neuromuscular disorders associated with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). This role coordinates multidisciplinary care, facilitates patient access to services, ensures continuity of care, and supports clinic operations for specialized grant- funded neuromuscular programs. Collaborates with Quality Director in monitoring clinic metrics, patient registry data, and quality improvement initiatives. Support grant-funded programs or MDA and ALS-related initiatives as applicable. Support special projects and community outreach as assigned. The coordinator works closely with neurologists, advanced practice providers, RNs, LPNs, MOAs, clerical staff, therapists, social workers, respiratory therapy, infusion teams, and external agencies to optimize patient outcomes and streamline care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Human Services, Healthcare Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant healthcare experience. 3-5 years of experience in healthcare program coordination, patient navigation, clinical operations, healthcare administration, or a related healthcare setting. Experience coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Social Work, Human Services, Healthcare Management, Nursing or related field. Experience in neurology, neuromuscular disorders, or chronic disease management. Experience supporting grant-funded programs. Familiarity with academic medical center environments. Experience with Epic and healthcare databases.
