Job summary

The Vail Police Department is hiring experienced officers and recent academy graduates to serve a dynamic resort mountain community in Colorado. You will enforce state and town laws, investigate crimes, and respond to emergencies while upholding high standards of integrity and professionalism.

The role requires POST certification transfer to Colorado, 60 college credits (BA/BS preferred), strong PR and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• P.O.S.T. Certification (out-of-state certifications qualify; must transfer to Colorado upon hire).
• 60 Credit Hours from an accredited college or university (BA or BS degree preferred).
• Strong Public Relations, Communication, and Problem-Solving Skills, with a high level of integrity.
• A clean background, with successful completion of polygraph, psychological evaluation, drug screening, and physical abilities testing.
• Spanish language skills are a plus!

Responsibilities

• Enforce the laws and ordinances of the State of Colorado and the Town of Vail.
• Prevent and investigate criminal activity; respond to emergencies.
