Job description

Purpose of the Role

The Global Head of Alpha Data Operations is accountable for the strategy, operating model, performance, and control environment of the function worldwide. The role sets enterprise standards for data integrity, production readiness, and service delivery across the end-to-end Alpha ecosystem; serves as the senior escalation point for material client, operational, data, and regulatory matters; and partners with Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and external providers to deliver resilient outcomes, scalable growth, and sustained client confidence.

What You Will Be Responsible For
Global Strategy and Client Excellence

Define and execute the global Alpha Data Operations strategy, translating Alpha priorities into a scalable operating model, clear accountabilities, and measurable outcomes across regions and client segments. Own global service performance and data-readiness outcomes, ensuring accurate and timely support for CRIMS trading, client and regulatory reporting, and downstream operations. Serve as executive sponsor and final escalation point for material client, data, asset-servicing, and production issues, directing resolution, remediation, and senior stakeholder communication. Build trusted partnerships with senior client, Front Office, Product, Technology, and Operations leaders to anticipate demand, strengthen resilience, and support growth and strategic change. Set global standards for service governance, issue transparency, and executive reporting, including KPIs, trend analysis, board materials, and remediation oversight. Align Alpha Data Operations with Alpha Data Services product strategy and the wider Alpha operating model, clarifying accountabilities, eliminating duplication, and defining measures of service success.

Operational and Risk Excellence

Own the global data governance and control framework, covering Security Master and reference data, validation, reconciliations, vendor-sourced data, sign-off standards, and end-to-end integrity controls. Maintain an audit-ready control environment with clear documentation, evidence, risk acceptance, issue governance, and remediation aligned to enterprise and regulatory expectations. Determine the response to material operational and data risks, applying judgement to client impact, regulatory exposure, escalation, remediation, and investment priorities. Set global performance, capacity, location, and vendor-management disciplines that support sustainable delivery and transparent decision-making.

Leadership and Organizational Development

Lead a high-performing, multi-location organization with clear objectives, decision rights, and accountability. Build leadership depth through succession planning, talent pipelines, technical development, and disciplined performance management. Foster an inclusive culture of ownership, constructive challenge, innovation, and continuous improvement. Act as the enterprise authority for Alpha Data Operations, influencing platform strategy, cross-functional standards, and senior stakeholder decisions.

Operating Model and Transformation

Shape the target operating model and transformation roadmap for Alpha Data Operations, aligned to platform strategy and client growth. Simplify processes and advance automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and strategic technology solutions to improve scale, efficiency, resilience, and control. Influence enterprise investment priorities and sequence change against client outcomes, risk, capacity, and operational readiness. Ensure resilient service delivery through effective capacity, location, and third-party strategies.

Qualifications
  • 20+ years of leadership experience in investment operations, data operations, asset servicing, Alpha services, or comparable front-to-back financial-services environments.
  • Proven accountability for complex global services, data integrity, operational performance, risk, and client outcomes at scale.
  • Deep expertise in investment data management, Security Master and reference data, reconciliations, production support, operational controls, and regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of front-to-back operating models, including trading, IBOR, client and regulatory reporting, and downstream investment operations; CRIMS experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success leading global, multi-location teams through large-scale transformation, platform modernization, and operating-model redesign.
  • Track record of managing material incidents, audits, regulatory matters, and enterprise remediation programs.
  • Exceptional ability to influence executive committees, institutional clients, regulators, auditors, and strategic partners across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong commercial and financial judgement, balancing client outcomes, risk, investment, capacity, efficiency, and resilience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience; advanced or relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.
Success Profile
  • Position Alpha Data Operations as a strategic differentiator through consistently high data quality, control, governance, and operational resilience.
  • Deliver a scalable, modern operating model that supports Alpha growth through automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and process simplification.
  • Build trusted partnerships across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and client leadership, with clear ownership and effective escalation.
