Job summary

Transforming Age's AlmaVia of San Rafael is hiring a part-time server to enhance dining experiences for residents in an enriching assisted living and memory care community. This on-site role supports daily dining operations and upholds our Culture of Excellence.

You will present menus, take and relay orders, deliver meals, assist with seating and cleanup, and ensure safety and infection-control protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Prior server experience preferred.
• 6 months+ experience in long-term care or related field preferred.
• Experience with POS transaction systems.
• Strong English verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, positive dining atmosphere with excellent service.
• Present menus and explain daily options to residents.
• Record orders accurately and relay to the kitchen.
• Deliver meals promptly and maintain appropriate temperatures.
• Assist residents with salad and breakfast bar selections.
• Clear, clean and reset tables for upcoming meals.
• Support dining room setup and follow infection control procedures.

This role pays: $17.50 to 22.95 per hour (DOE)

Work Hours : 3:00pm to 7:30pm

Our Servers:

• Creates a warm, positive dining atmosphere through excellent customer service.

• Presents menus to residents, explains daily meal options, and provides suggestions as needed.

• Answers questions about menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.

• Records food orders accurately and relays them to the kitchen.

• Delivers meals and beverages promptly, ensuring appropriate temperatures are maintained.

• Observes residents to identify and fulfill additional needs or requests.

• Assists residents with salad and breakfast bar selections and delivers trays as necessary.

• Clears, cleans, and resets tables efficiently for upcoming meal services.

• Supports daily dining room setup, including coffee brewing, dessert portioning, and soup or salad bar preparation.

• Follows established food service policies and infection control procedures.

• Always maintains safe and sanitary work areas.

• Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility, and demonstrate commitment to Culture of Excellence and strategic goals

• Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:

• At least 18 years of age.

• Previous server experience highly preferred.

• 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred.

• Software experience using POS (point-of-sale) transactional systems

• Must possess effective English verbal and written communication skills.

• Must possess or obtain valid First Aid certification within 30 days of hire, as required by Title 22.

• Must obtain a valid California Food Handler Card (or ServSafe equivalent) within 30 days of hire and maintain compliance with food safety regulations.
