Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Modeler - ALM Modeling to build and analyze sophisticated models for insurance products, investments, and portfolios. You will leverage actuarial, financial, statistical, data science, and balance sheet modeling to support risk-adjusted returns.

The role requires a strong quantitative background, experience with programming (C++/C#/Python) and statistical tools, and a hybrid work arrangement with in-office days Tue/Wed/Thu in Iowa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, math, actuarial science, computer science, economics, engineering, or finance.
• Exposure to insurance liability, asset valuation, derivatives modeling, liquidity management, ML, or AI.
• Strong understanding of investment and finance concepts and analytical problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Model and quantify risks including equity and interest rate sensitivities and liquidity risks.
• Embrace new technologies to improve workflows.
• Build controls to mitigate operating risks in workflows.
• Apply risk methodologies and analyze market data for hedge programs.
• Develop models to simulate financial reporting processes.
• Use statistical and mathematical tools to handle high-volume data from multiple sources.
• Interpret issues and propose defensible modeling solutions.
• Address materiality of data choices in modeling.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure robust risk analysis.
