Job summary

rag & bone is seeking an Allocator/Replenishment Assistant to support the Outlet channel by managing product flow, replenishment, and store-level inventory from initial allocation through end of life.

Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will partner with the Senior Buyer and Merchandiser to ensure the right product in the right outlet store at the right time, maximizing sales and gross margin while minimizing aged and excess inventory.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in allocation, replenishment, planning, or merchandising.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to interpret sales and inventory data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage purchase orders from initial allocation through end-of-life, including replenishment and consolidation.
  • Monitor store inventory levels by door, seasonality, and selling curves.
  • Identify sales opportunities and stock liabilities by door and communicate trends.
  • Maintain stock positions by door and collaborate on programs and clearance.
  • Coordinate inter-store transfers to optimize sell-through and reduce aged inventory.
  • Flag shipping issues and partner with teams to address constraints.
  • Build reports with the Merchandise Planner and communicate needs to stores.
  • Visit stores monthly to understand merchandising strategies and needs.
  • Define store attributes and strategies that drive sales and gross margin by door.
  • Suggest changes to allocation and replenishment procedures and systems.

Job Summary: The Allocator/Replenishment Assistant supports the Outlet channel by managing product flow, replenishment, and store-level inventory from initial allocation through end of life. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, this role partners closely with the Senior Buyer and Merchandise Planner to ensure the right product is in the right outlet store at the right time, maximizing sales and gross margin while minimizing aged and excess inventory. This is a strong opportunity for an entry-level professional to deepen their allocation and outlet-specific merchandising expertise.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage purchase orders from initial allocation through end-of-life, including replenishment and consolidation of goods to other stores or channels
  • Manage store inventory levels based on capacity, attributes, seasonality, and selling curves; monitor flow of initial assortments and reorders by classification, delivery group, and style as needed
  • Identify and communicate sales opportunities and stock liabilities by door on a regular basis, ensuring buy quantities and stock levels align with current sales trends and key selling periods
  • Maintain a strong stock position by door on core, seasonal basics, and item programs; partner with the Buying team to monitor sales and stock penetration on key programs, as well as clearance and aging by door
  • Manage basic stock replenishment programs and recommend inter-store transfers to optimize sell-through and clear aged inventory
  • Take ownership of warehouse and aged inventory by door; identify and flag shipping issues that may affect the business
  • Partner with the Merchandise Planner to recap business at the door level and build best-seller/hindsight reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis; communicate and champion the needs of the stores
  • Build strong relationships with the Buying/Merchandise Planning team and stores to understand merchandising strategies and business needs; visit stores at least once a month with the team
  • Partner with Merchandise Planning and Buying to define store attributes and strategies that drive sales and gross margin profitability by door
  • Recommend changes and enhancements to current allocation and replenishment procedures and systems
Requirements:
  • 1–4 years of experience in allocation, replenishment, planning, or merchandising, ideally within a vertical retail channel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and inventory data to drive decisions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple store groups and deadlines simultaneously
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable partnering across Merchandising, Planning, and Store Operations
  • Understanding of outlet/off-price retail dynamics, including differentiated assortment and pricing strategy, is a plus

Salary: The target salary for this role is between $60,000 and $70,000 based on candidates’ experience and expectations.
