Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network is seeking a dedicated professional to coordinate organ allocation for deceased donors and assist in machine perfusion of kidneys. The role includes coordinating a 12-hour night shift on-call rotation (7 PM–7 AM) and close collaboration with transplant centers to ensure compliant organ allocation.

You will document allocation efforts in Gift of Hope EMR, use DonorNet for donor information dissemination, and communicate required clinical details to staff

Qualifications

• Coordinate organ allocation with transplant centers according to policy.
• Participate in 12-hour night shift on-call rotation (7 PM-7 AM).
• Document allocation activities in the EMR with accuracy.

Coordinates the allocation of organs from deceased donors via the national organ allocation system; assists in the machine perfusion of deceased donor kidneys.

**Essential Functions**

• Participate in 12-hour **night shift** **(7 PM-7 AM)** on-call rotation to coordinate organ allocation; assist in hypothermic machine perfusion of deceased donor kidneys
• Communicate with transplant centers to allocate organs in accordance with OPTN/UNOS policy; document the disposition of these organs
• Use DonorNet to disseminate donor information and organ offer notification; accurately document allocation efforts in the Gift of Hope EMR
• Identify, document and communicate required clinical information to associated Gift of Hope staff, transplant center staff and administrators
• Assist Perfusion Coordinator performing renal dissection / cannulation with non-sterile tasks while in the Perfusion Lab
• Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives, meetings, educational activities and required training as assigned
• Participate in training and mentoring new staff as assigned
• Other duties as assigned
