Job summary

Bed Bath & Beyond is seeking an Allocation Analyst to drive inventory allocation and replenishment across departments, ensuring strong in-stock performance and optimized product flow.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in retail allocation or merchandising, with strong Excel and BI skills to generate actionable insights. You will collaborate with Buying, Planning, and Store teams and contribute to business reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2+ years of retail allocation, planning, or merchandising experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with retail math concepts (APS, Weeks of Supply, replenishment).
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Experience with allocation systems and Planning and Allocation tools; Oracle Retail a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute initial purchase order allocations and manage replenishment for departments to ensure strong in-stock performance.
  • Monitor and optimize store inventory levels to meet sales and service goals.
  • Maintain and optimize replenishment programs (min/max levels) to support store demand.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize sales through allocation, size optimization, and balance across locations.
  • Analyze business performance using BI tools and Excel to develop actionable insights.
  • Track inbound purchase orders, communicate risks, and collaborate to mitigate issues.
  • Prepare allocation strategies using retail metrics like APS and Weeks of Supply.
  • Partner with Buying, Planning, and Store teams on assortment needs and product flow.
  • Participate in business reviews and cross-functional meetings to drive decisions.

Job Duties
  • Execute initial purchase order allocations and manage replenishment to ensure timely, accurate inventory flow and strong in-stock performance for assigned departments or categories.
  • Monitor and optimize store inventory levels to achieve sales, service, and in-stock goals.
  • Maintain and optimize replenishment programs, including key inventory parameters such as min/max levels, to support store demand.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize sales through improved allocation, size optimization, and inventory balancing across store locations.
  • Analyze business performance and develop actionable insights using Business Intelligence tools and Microsoft Excel.
  • Track inbound purchase orders, communicate risks, and partner cross-functionally to mitigate inventory and supply chain issues.
  • Prepare and present allocation strategies using key retail metrics such as APS (Average Per Store) and Weeks of Supply (WOS).
  • Partner with the Buying, Planning, and Store teams on assortment needs, allocation strategies, and product flow.
  • Participate in business reviews and cross-functional meetings to contribute insights and drive decision-making.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2+ years of retail allocation, planning, or merchandising experience.
  • Highly motivated and results oriented with a demonstrated ability to deliver against inventory and service-level targets.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional partners including Buying, Planning, and Store teams.
  • Ability to present allocation strategies and action plans to leadership.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions, including a solid understanding of retail math concepts such as APS, Weeks of Supply, and replenishment.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have strong technical skills; specifically Microsoft Excel and Business Intelligence software.
  • Experience with allocation systems and Planning and Allocation tools preferred; Oracle Retail a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Physical Requirements

This position requires you to sit, stand and perform general office functions. You may also be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
