Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy services. The successful candidate will be responsible for compounding and preparing medications, including sterile products, oral and topical medications, as well as controlled substances. These tasks will be carried out under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist and as authorized by a physician.

Key Responsibilities

• Compounds and prepares a variety of medications, including high-risk medication processes.
• Delivers and exchanges medications in patient areas, and returns unused medications to the pharmacy.
• Documents pharmaceutical activities, including patient billing for medications and equipment as well as quality control requirements.
• Ensures the accuracy of data and maintains documentation standards.
• Responds to customer requests for assistance with pharmacy services, including medication delivery and drug information.
• Operates and supports automated dispensing technology to ensure patients receive the correct medications.
• Manages inventory processes, including ordering, receiving, restocking, and expiration date management.
• Assists in training new employees on job-specific functions and responsibilities.
• Contributes to process improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.
• Participates in regulatory compliance inspections of medication storage areas and completes necessary documentation.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
• Recent pharmacy technician experience is required.

Education

• No formal education required, provided other qualifications are met.
• Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Certifications & Licensure

• Current registration with the relevant State Board of Pharmacy is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.

Schedule

The schedule for this position may vary. Candidates must be available to work from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with fluctuating shifts between 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
