The successful candidate will be required to be on-campus 2 days per week.

Position Overview

The Director of Allied Health Programs is responsible for the administration and support of the College’s non-credit Allied Health programs. These include initial certification classes and continuing education for medical professionals, classes for individuals pursuing registration as nurse aides or phlebotomists, and specialty continuing education classes for related health care professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Teaching, hiring, training, and assisting instructors in allied health programs.
  2. Maintaining working relationships with the NC Department of Health and Human Services and NC Board of Nursing to ensure training content meets standards.
  3. Managing and overseeing all aspects of program development and maintenance.
  4. Recruiting students and demonstrating retention efforts.
  5. Hiring, supervising, and evaluating adjunct instructors.
  6. Submitting course schedules and accurate records for each enrollment period.
  7. Overseeing textbook evaluation and ordering.
  8. Participating in professional development activities.
  9. Serving as the primary planning leader for the program area.
  10. Engaging with and maintaining an external advisory committee.
  11. Coordinating advising and maintaining records for all active advisees.
  12. Managing the program budget.
  13. Performing internal audits of the program's progress.
  14. Attending relevant state, national, and local meetings.
  15. Keeping the curriculum current and competitive.
  16. Participating in college-wide committees and functions.
  17. Providing feedback on student success and fostering alumni relationships.
  18. Performing additional duties as assigned by senior administration.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current, unencumbered North Carolina RN license with at least 2 years (4000 hours) of work experience as a registered nurse.
  • At least one year (2000 hours) of RN experience in long-term care services, demonstrated by: working in a licensed long-term care facility or supervising/teaching students in such a facility.
