Houston Career Institute is seeking substitute instructors to support on-campus and online courses. You will teach assigned courses, communicate requirements and policies, and monitor attendance and grading to ensure academic progress.
The role emphasizes mentoring students, providing academic support, and using technology to deliver instruction. A Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification with 5 years of field experience is required; health and licensure requirements must be maintained.
The instructor assists students in meeting their academic and career goals by providing an engaging teaching and learning environment utilizing sound pedagogical teaching strategies based on approved syllabi. The instructor provides appropriate and effective instruction, stays current in the scholarship and practice of their discipline and teaching methodology, supports academic quality standards. The instructor is responsible for helping to create and maintain a student-centered learning environment based on a culture of student learning assessment at the course, program, and institutional level.
Duties to include but not limited to:
Meet obligations for the on-campus, off-campus, and online time necessary to meet their professional responsibilities for classes, laboratories, office hours, meetings, and other assignments.
