Job Description:

The Alliance Solution Leader (ASL) will be responsible for providing sales support, solution development leadership, and Go-to-Market (GTM) efforts through the Partner Alliance (Salesforce) to grow Merkle’s services business. The ASL will also support driving Merkle-influenced software revenue within the Salesforce Partnership. The role involves leading relationships for pre-sales and engineering support across Salesforce cloud areas such as Sales, Marketing, Service, and Commerce Clouds. The role reports to the Chief Growth Architect, Merkle Alliances.

This is a remote role. Employees within 90 min of NY, MI, or IL offices may expect 1 day onsite. ~25% travel to client sites and conferences.

Key Responsibilities

You are:

  • Experienced supporting partner-side selling motions and programs
  • Experienced in co-selling, co-developing solutions, and GTM collateral with Salesforce
  • Familiar with navigating the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Capable of creating and delivering solution demonstrations in client settings
  • Initiative-taking, persuasive, a self-starter, and quick learner
  • Comfortable engaging with SVP and C-Level leadership
  • Well-connected professionally with an active network

You will:

  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with Salesforce partner managers, supporting sales, solution delivery, GTM activities, demonstrations, and marketing initiatives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting new sales and existing client growth within Salesforce
  • Train and support Salesforce Partner Sales Managers to align opportunities with trusted service providers
  • Execute duties aligned with the sales plan for Merkle services, focusing on partner and Merkle-influenced revenue
  • Contribute to the joint GTM narrative between Merkle and Salesforce
  • Support internal teams in identifying, developing, and closing new business
  • Participate in go-to-market activities, deal registration, incentives, and manage Merkle’s virtual presence with partners
  • Help elevate the Partner alliance maturity across Merkle’s framework: Sales, Marketing, Enablement, Delivery
  • Assist in developing alliance partner offerings and GTM strategies
  • Manage Salesforce Power Map and advance Merkle’s positioning within Salesforce
  • Design solutions tailored to client business needs, positioning Salesforce solutions as strategic offerings
  • Track opportunities in CRM to monitor performance against goals

Outcomes

This role is key in driving wins, developing relationships, and evolving solutions at strategic accounts, supporting the success of the alliance program. Responsibilities include positioning Merkle as a leader in the Salesforce ecosystem, leveraging Marketing Development Funds (MDF), achieving pipeline, revenue, and win rate targets, and increasing alliance partner maturity.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of professional experience with alliance partners, especially Salesforce
  • Experience in large strategic implementations within systems integrators or experiential agencies
  • Proven ability to navigate Salesforce’s organization and co-sell effectively
  • Experience engaging with clients in both new logo and existing client sales scenarios
  • 3-5 years in digital media, marketing, or alliance sales
  • Domain knowledge in marketing and ad technology
  • Understanding of the digital agency marketplace
  • Strong internal relationship skills across verticals and business units
  • Proactive, interpersonal, and collaborative skills to work across teams and with Salesforce

The annual base salary range is $163,000 - $263,350, depending on experience and skills.
