The RN will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals and will be responsible for educating patients and families on allergy prevention and management, collaborating with physicians, and ensuring a safe environment for patients undergoing allergy procedures.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm - No patients scheduled on Fridays

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Current Registered Nurse license in Georgia required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience (experience in allergy clinic, rheumatology, immunology, or chronic disease management preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
• BLS certification required

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

• Performs patient assessments, gathers health history, and monitors vital signs.
• Administers allergy injections and medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Conducts allergy testing (skin prick, intradermal) and interprets results.
• Monitors patients for reactions to allergy shots and provides appropriate intervention.
• Provides patient education on allergy management, including allergen avoidance, medication use, and emergency preparedness.
• Proficiency in administering medications and allergy injections.
• Develops and implements patient-specific care plans.
• Documents patient care and treatment in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintains a clean and organized clinical environment.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Provides comprehensive nursing care for patients with allergic conditions in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Assists physicians in performing allergy tests and administering medications, including allergy shots.
• Educates patients and their families on allergy prevention, management, and self-care.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization.
• Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
• Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
• Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
