Job Description

Overview

An Alignment Technician will be responsible for performing mechanical duties accurately and efficiently, following all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform brake, front end, and alignment maintenance, along with other mechanical work, in accordance with company standards.
  • Train and coach team members as needed.
  • Maintain smooth workflow and ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Extend Big O’s Extra Care Services to all customers.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles, ensuring quality control.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to review safety, policies, and updates.
  • Assist with documentation, adjustments, and core credits.
  • Work with management to meet service and sales quotas.
  • Provide accurate work information for invoicing.
  • Utilize company purchase programs to maximize profitability.
  • Execute vehicle inspection programs consistently.
  • Achieve service, sales, and productivity goals.
  • Support training of new staff.
  • Complete required training promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • At least one year of experience as a technician.
  • Availability to work holidays, weekends, and evenings.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts and operate office machinery.
  • Capable of safely operating vehicles with manual or automatic transmissions.
  • Effective communication with customers.
  • Willing to work with hazardous materials and in outdoor conditions.
  • Compliance with PPE regulations.
  • Good sensory abilities (vision, hearing, smell).
  • Ability to stand or drive for up to nine hours.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Pass pre-employment screening, MVR, and background checks.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two or more years of automotive shop experience.
  • ASE certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail.
