Job summary

KLA is seeking a talented Algorithm Engineer to join the Algorithm Group in the Reticle Product Division in Milpitas, CA. You will design and deploy advanced algorithms, leveraging modern C++, CUDA C++, GPU computing, and AI techniques to improve pattern analysis, defect detection, and throughput in semiconductor inspection systems.

The role requires PhD or MS with strong math and programming skills, collaboration across teams, and occasional international travel.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with strong background in algorithm development and numerical methods.
• Proven experience in developing production-grade software for HPC or imaging.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ and GPU-accelerated computing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise algorithms for pattern analysis and defect detection.
• Translate technical requirements into mathematical models and scalable solutions.
• Analyze large datasets to improve accuracy, robustness, and throughput.
• Research and apply AI techniques to improve automation and inspection capabilities.
• Develop production-quality, maintainable software with clear documentation.
