A bachelor’s degree from any regionally accredited institution qualifies you for the training program. Under the supervision of the principal, you will plan lessons, supervise students, monitor outcomes, and communicate with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university in any field.
• Eligible to pursue provisional Special Education License in Virginia when requested.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences conducive to student development.
• Supervise students and monitor outcomes; maintain records.
• Communicate with students, parents, staff and community.
• Develop and modify instructional plans to meet diverse needs.
• Prepare for classes and demonstrate evidence of preparation upon request.
• Establish objectives and communicate them to students.
• Utilize instructional methods and resources to engage learners.
• Ensure safety of students, equipment and facilities.
• Maintain classroom order and policies, with reasonable rules of conduct.
