Job summary

KIPP Memphis Collegiate High School is seeking an Algebra I Teacher to deliver rigorous instruction and foster a college-preparatory culture. The teacher will implement the district curriculum, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to support underserved students.

Applicants must hold Tennessee licensure for the subject and grade, possess a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), and demonstrate commitment to equity and student success in an urban charter environment.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee state licensure and certification with endorsement matching subject area & grade band
• Commitment to working with educationally underserved students
• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred
• Experience in urban or charter school settings is valued
• Highly Qualified status or strong content-area expertise is desirable

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study and unit/weekly/daily lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and students’ needs.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ maturity and interests.
• Employ varied instructional techniques and media aligned with best practices and content knowledge.
• Utilize diagnostic assessments to identify learning strengths/needs and tailor interventions.
• Maintain safety, attendance, records, and professional conduct; be available to families as needed.
