Job summary

Touro College & University System is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Algebra 2 teacher to join the academic team. This role involves instruction, course preparation, and the development of instructional materials to foster active learning among students. The ideal candidate should inspire students, communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, and be familiar with Common Core Standards and the NYS Regents curriculum.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, managing classroom behavior, and evaluating student performance. A degree in a relevant field and teaching experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests in accordance with established procedures.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Provide appropriate feedback on work.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development.
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.

Education

Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university

Master’s degree or NY State teaching certification preferred
