About the Role

Brooklyn Ascend High School seeks a High School Algebra 1 Teacher to deliver rigorous, Regents-aligned instruction grounded in scientific reasoning, quantitative precision, and laboratory inquiry.

Algebra I extends students' algebraic fluency to polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. Students analyze complex functions, apply statistical reasoning, and develop the mathematical maturity to work with abstract structures and proofs. The course bridges procedural skill and conceptual depth, preparing students for the rigors of pre-calculus and Advanced Placement coursework. Preparation for the New York State Algebra II Regents Examination is woven throughout.

The successful candidate believes every scholar can achieve at high levels, creates intellectually demanding classrooms where productive struggle is expected, and prepares students to confidently demonstrate mathematical understanding through both Regents performance and public exhibition of learning.
