Position Details

• FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-Time
• Wage: $17.28/hr + tips (approximately $21.28 - $25.28 per hour)

Responsibilities

Customer Interaction

• Greet guests warmly, deliver exceptional service, and anticipate needs.
• Explain beverage and food options, answer questions, and build rapport.
• Handle inquiries, process orders, and manage mobile app operations.
• Maintain a calm and welcoming presence during busy periods.

Beverage Preparation

• Craft high-quality beverages following Alfred standards.
• Maintain equipment and understand coffee/tea origins and flavor profiles.

Cafe Operations

• Ensure cleanliness, restock supplies, and assist with deliveries.
• Support team communication and report operational issues.
• Follow hygiene and safety standards.

Teamwork

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Report issues and support team goals.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow procedures for cash handling, food safety, and hygiene.
• Report hazards and accidents.
• Maintain attendance and adhere to policies.

Food Service

• Prepare food per recipes, maintain cleanliness, and explain options.

Additional Duties

• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Experience in cafes preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Flexibility for meetings and training outside regular hours.
• Minimum of 3 shifts per week; full-time requires an average of 30 hours/week.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 20 pounds.
• Move efficiently within the cafe.
• Effective communication in English.
• Good vision and ability to see details.
• Flexibility to bend, squat, and stand for long periods.
• Operate cash registers or tablets accurately.
