Job Summary

The ALEC School Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment for students, faculty, and staff. This role involves a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and facility support tasks to ensure the school is conducive to learning and operations.

Functions And Responsibilities

  • Performing routine cleaning tasks like dusting, mopping, and vacuuming throughout the school.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing various surfaces, including whiteboards and restrooms, and managing waste and recycling.
  • Responsible for minor repairs, ensuring building safety and security, assisting with event setups, and maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Additional duties may include reporting maintenance issues, monitoring supply inventory, operating cleaning equipment, and performing grounds maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

  • Physical stamina, knowledge of cleaning practices and supplies, and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with attention to detail and reliability, are also important.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance can be beneficial.

REPORTS TO

The ALEC School Custodian reports to the Principal of ALEC.

Physical Requirements

Standing: 50%

Walking: 30%

Climbing Stairs: 10%

Kneeling/Stooping: 10%

Outside: 15%

Inside: 85%

PAY

$14.50 per hour

SCHEDULE

5 days per week; Monday-Friday; Approximately 3-4 hours per day; after school hours.

  • Employee may be wait-listed until adequate housing accommodations are available. Cannot accommodate families in need of more than 3 bedrooms. Pets are not allowed, but emotional support animals are allowed with a physician's note.
