Job summary

Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an Alcohol and Drug Counselor to deliver treatment services under DHS guidance. The role includes assessments, individual treatment plans, group and individual counseling, and coordination with referrals and services to support recovery.

The position requires MN licensure as an LADC, ongoing CE, strong organization and communication, and a compassionate, values-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota alcohol and drug counseling license.
• CE coursework required to maintain LADC license.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.
• Able to work with individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to MnTC values: compassion, honor, respect, integrity, servanthood, trust.
• Meets licensure and Minnesota statutes requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and modify treatment plans to meet licensure and client needs.
• Complete assessments within five days of service initiation using ASAM criteria.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans and provide group and individual counseling.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation.
• Coordinate with client referrals, probation, and social services.
• Prepare discharge summaries for each client.
