Job summary

Alaska Village Electric Cooperative seeks a Project Manager to lead the development, design, and construction of utility projects for remote rural communities in Alaska. This role requires coordinating bids, managing contracts, tracking milestones, and ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and quality.

Travel to communities by small aircraft is expected. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of progressive experience, plus PMP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; five or more years progressive experience in project management or a related field.
• Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is preferred and an asset.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Determine and define project scope and objectives.
• Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources efficiently.
• Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
• Track project costs to meet budget and schedule.
• Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
• Communicate effectively with community stakeholders, contractors, agencies, and staff.
• Provide project updates to AVEC managers and stakeholders on strategy, budget, and schedule.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies; present these to AVEC management.
