Job summary

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation seeks a Park Superintendent based in Juneau. The role oversees all operations of Southeast Region state parks, including Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, and Haines, supervising staff and volunteers to maintain safe facilities and protect resources.

Responsibilities include budgeting, contracts, revenue programs, and collaboration with communities and stakeholders on land management, park development, and compliance

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience in administration, management, and budgeting.
• Knowledge of public planning, land use, and outdoor recreation planning.
• Ability to supervise staff, volunteers, and seasonal workers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee park operations across the Southeast Region including Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, and Haines.
• Supervise field staff, seasonal workers, and volunteers; direct maintenance, enforcement, and resource management.
• Manage regional budgets, contracts, and revenue programs within funding constraints.
• Collaborate with communities, partner agencies, and stakeholders on land management, permits, and park development.
